Pump System Technologies

Pump System Technologies Overview

Single stage, horizontal, end suction pumps are less efficient, require more maintenance. Cast iron pumps, control valves, and manifolds oxidize in water. Control valves are energy consumers. Switchgear can only turn the pump on at full speed. No ramp capability,no power filter, no pump or motor protections.

Fixed Speed Pump Systems

Fixed speed pump systems are widely used in existing commercial booster applications. These systems are known for their high energy consumption and inability to consistently deliver reliable pump performance. Operating solely at full speed, fixed speed pumps require mechanical control valves to regulate output pressure, which leads to reduced pump life, wild pressure swings, and waterhammer.

Stainless Steel Vertical Multistage Pumps

PumpPro employs stainless steel, vertical multistage pumps that are specifically engineered to deliver high performance and exceptional efficiency. The pump design incorporates a robust frame adapter that utilizes a standard C-Face motor. These motors are widely available through motor distributors and can be easily mounted to the frame using just four bolts.

Efficient Coupling and Maintenance

The coupling system of these pumps is designed to facilitate straightforward and rapid mechanical seal replacement. This feature not only simplifies routine maintenance but also helps save both time and operational costs.

Durable Stainless Steel Construction

Constructed from 304 stainless steel, these pumps resist oxidation in water, ensuring sustained efficiency and reliable operation over time. The use of this high-quality material makes the pumps ideal for continuous and long-term use.

Optimal Performance and Longevity

Stainless VMS pumps are highly effective at pumping clean water. When integrated with appropriate pump controls, they are capable of providing decades of dependable, trouble-free service.

PumpPro Systems: PID Controlled Efficiency

PumpPro systems utilize PID (Proportional-Integral-Derivative) control for enhanced precision and efficiency. By incorporating 4-20mA pressure transducers, these systems are able to communicate actual pressure readings directly to the programmable logic controller (PLC). This allows the pump to automatically adjust its speed—ramping up or down as needed—to maintain the designated set point pressure, ensuring optimal performance and energy savings.

Superior Hardware

The PumpPro standard control enclosure is rated dustproof to NEMA 12 standards, offering superior protection compared to typical commodity systems, which are generally provided with basic NEMA 1 enclosure. Our standard NEMA 12 enclosure safeguards electronic circuit boards, delivering measurable value. Additionally, we offer NEMA 4X enclosures for applications requiring waterproof protection.

Control Logic Features

Our system incorporates advanced control logic that includes several key protective features. These features, such as dry-run protection and motor voltage and amperage safeguards, are integrated directly into the control logic to ensure reliable operation and equipment longevity.

Built-In Protections

The control logic is designed to automatically prevent dry running, which helps avoid damage caused by operating equipment without sufficient fluid. Additionally, the system continuously monitors motor voltage and amperage, providing immediate protection against electrical anomalies that could impair performance or cause failures.

Constant Pressure

Beyond these protective measures, our control logic excels at maintaining precisely regulated pressure. This pinpoint pressure remains steady and reliable, regardless of fluctuations in system demand, ensuring optimal performance in all operating conditions.
